TEACHER CARMINA is a music educator who loves kids and has a passion for teaching and learning. She studied at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where she honed her skills in violin as her major instrument and piano as her minor instrument. She furthered her studies by taking up a master’s degree at the Philippine Women’s University, focusing on a music teaching approach called “Kodály Approach.” She is affiliated with the Philippine Suzuki Association and Kodály Society of the Philippines. She is a Certified Kodály Teacher. She also took Suzuki Violin Method Teacher Trainings for Books 1, 2 and 3 with Dr. Lan Ku Chen and Hoei Tsu Chen.

She is a Licensed Teacher, and started as a classroom music teacher in an international school where she stayed for five years. She then continued teaching part-time in reputable schools. In addition, she has also played with a number of local performing groups – orchestras (UST Symphony Orchestra, Manila Symphony Orchestra), chamber, and various groups.

Right now, she is into what she loves and enjoys – teaching kids about music. Most of her students are ages four and above. She strongly believes that anyone can learn anything, especially music, with a nurturing environment, guidance and love.
